DIY Kitchen Cabinet Doors

DIY Change Your Cabinet Door

It's pretty much undeniable that every kitchen has cabinets and they provide much convenience as well as style. But after a while, don't you just get tired of looking at the same cabinet hardware that was there since foreverc If yes, then you should really look into modifying the color of your cabinetry. This step always manages to bring life and excitement back into any kitchen, provided the right color is chosen. If you want to change your cabinet color, then simply follow the next steps.

First of all, remove the cabinet doors by unscrewing them. It's not a particularly difficult or complex task so this shouldn't take much time. Make sure to place the doors and the screws into a secure and tidy place, so that you can find them again easily when you need to; trust me, you don't want to lose screws from thing's you're about to reassemble, since that will cause a bit of a problem.

The second task to perform would be cleaning out the cabinets. Make sure everything is clean inside out, use whatever chemical detergent you need to in order to remove accumulations of dust, dirt and grease be merciless, ignore nothing, and clean everything.

The third step involves applying prime-sealer and should not be overlooked. Once everything has dried, use prime-sealer and cover the door's surface in it's entirety. Begin painting from the middle part, and then spread around at the pace you see fit, of course depending on the specific cabinets you have. You can use high-gloss, semi-gloss, or waterproof paint at the same time.

The fourth step consists of painting the door. Use a good quality brush, and for the best outcome, I recommend you paint 2-3 light cotas to really bring this cabinetry set back to life.  Make sure to let everything dry completely before proceeding onwards (4-5 hours per each coat).

The fifth and last step is painting the cabinet's base, which actually involves the exact same steps as painting the door. After that, reassemble and stare in wide wonder at the marvel you've just put together.
